Each patient room is private, and the uniquely designed "clover leaf" patient care units consist of 60 beds per floor. The Emergency Department is sized to accommodate up to 60,000 visits per year.

You will be responsible for:
  • Participates in an environment which ensures quality work, group morale and is conducive to keeping effective lines of communication
  • Capable of handling various aspects of the job simultaneously while maintaining a calm outward appearance
  • Possesses/demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment and method of activation
  • Maintains radiation protection standards for patients, employees and self-according to ALARA principles
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, able to recognize gross abnormalities & notify physician of emergent findings
  • Provides excellent customer service to our patients, physicians & offices
  • Maintains required credentials, licenses, and certifications within required renewal dates
  • Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction, performance of interventional/biopsy procedures using sterile technique and in acute emergencies when necessary
  • Performs duties in compliance with universal precaution, infection control, medical records charting/documentation and patient safety requirements
  • Obtains optimal CTA/contrast examinations per protocol using recommended ROI placement to acquire acceptable contrast enhancement
  • Obtains required consents, reviews for accuracy, completeness & verifies information prior to procedure
  • Possesses skills in reconstructions, reformations, including the use of workstations & chooses appropriate protocol for exam being performed
  • Verifies lab work prior to procedure to determine that the patient is a candidate for administration of contrast material according to protocol & consults with physicians as needed
  • Knowledge and handling of ancillary devices such as infusion pumps, O2, monitoring devices, urinary catheters, chest tubes & other devices during examinations
  • Follows protocols & adjusts techniques as needed to obtain the highest quality exam with the least amount of radiation; performs acceptable positioning and properly annotates exams
  • Utilizes computer system within the hospital guidelines; proficient in required computer programs to perform daily job function and effectively communicates via email with professionalism
  • Completes medical records according to policy and procedures for exams being performed and transmission of electronic imaging (including prior images as required) to PACS, workstations & tele radiology
  • Troubleshoots equipment in the event of error, failure, complications, or downtime & follows procedures during such events
  • Starts and maintains viable IV site during exam to avoid large volume infiltrate & observes IV contrast administration during exam per protocol
  • Demonstrates teamwork approach by assisting coworkers in expediting processes to ensure efficient & effective workflow in the delivery of quality care
  • Wears radiation monitoring device(s)
  • Responsible for safely transporting patients via wheelchair, bed, stretcher or escorting ambulatory visitors/patients
 What will you need?
  • State of Florida Radiologic Technologist License
  • ARRT (R) (CT) Certification required within one year of employment
  • Basic Life Support - (Accredited through American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technologist program
  • Prior experience working in hospital setting
