Each patient room is private, and the uniquely designed "clover leaf" patient care units consist of 60 beds per floor.

Qualifications
  • You will be responsible for:
  • Participates in an environment which ensures quality work, group morale and is conducive to keeping effective lines of communication
  • Capable of handling various aspects of the job simultaneously while maintaining a calm outward appearance
  • Possesses/demonstrates knowledge of emergency codes, location of emergency equipment and method of activation
  • Maintains radiation protection standards for patients, employees and self according to ALARA principles
  • Knowledge of radiographic techniques, portable imaging, C-Arm operations, fluoroscopy & interventional procedures
  • Provides excellent customer service to our patients, physicians & offices
  • Maintains required credentials, licenses, and certifications within required renewal dates
  • Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction or acute emergencies when necessary
  • Performs duties in compliance with universal precaution, infection control, medical records charting/documentation and patient safety requirements
  • Alleviates patient anxiety and empathizes with patients in a caring manner
  • Obtains required consents, reviews for accuracy, completeness & verifies information prior to procedure
  • Responsible for cleaning cassettes, equipment, exam rooms and keeps an orderly work area for improved efficiency
  • Verifies lab work prior to procedure to determine that the patient is a candidate for administration of contrast material according to protocol & consults with physicians as needed
  • Knowledge and handling of ancillary devices such as infusion pumps, O2, monitoring devices, urinary catheters, chest tubes & other devices during examinations
  • Follows protocols & adjusts techniques as needed to obtain the highest quality exam; performs acceptable positioning and radiographs properly annotated
  • Utilizes computer system within the hospital guidelines; proficient in required computer programs to perform daily job function and communicates professionally via email
  • Completes medical records according to policy and procedures for exams being performed and transmission of electronic imaging to PACS
  • Troubleshoots equipment in the event of error, failure, complications, or downtime & follows procedures during such events
  • Assesses patient abilities to perform tasks for ordered exam; adjusts as needed to provide safe environment for patient and transfers patient with care and comfort
  • Demonstrates teamwork approach by assisting coworkers in expediting processes to ensure efficient & effective workflow in the delivery of quality care
  • Wears radiation monitoring device(s)
  • Maintains viable venous access during exams requiring administration of IV contrast material
  • Responsible for safely transporting patients via wheelchair, bed, stretcher or escorting ambulatory visitors/patients
  • Responsible for all other duties and duty assignments requested within the scope of practice of the license/certificate holder
 
What will you need?
 
  • Graduate of AMA (American Medical Association) approved Radiologic Technologist program
  • State of Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist License
  • ARRT (R) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)  - (Accredited through American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Previous hospital experience - Preferred
