The Emergency Department at SMMC is the busiest in Johnson County. We deliver more babies each year at the Shawnee Mission Birth Center than any other hospital in the metropolitan area and our Center for Women’s Health is nationally recognized. We have seven Shawnee Mission Primary Care locations with more than 30 Board-certified doctors who specialize in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics as well as Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care locations.

Qualifications

You will be responsible for: 

 

  • Provides superb customer service, every customer, every time.  Stops current task to assist the customer.
  • Meets/exceeds customer needs in a positive courteous manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of food items, ingredients, allergens, etc. by answering questions and making suggestions.
  • Looks for solutions that will avoid saying “no”.
  • Makes eye contact and smiles.
  • Greets and welcomes each and every guest in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Displays appropriate body language at all times.
  • Projects a positive image and energy.
  • Makes every customer feel important.
  • Keeps customers informed and up to date on any issues.  Lets customer know how long it will take if an item is being prepared or needs to be stocked.
  • Looks for opportunities to “wow” customers during their visit.
  • Maintains professional behavior and appearance at all times in the workplace through grooming, dress, language and non-verbal behavior.
  • Understands and utilizes "managing up" products, services, associates, departments. 

 

What will you need?

 

  • Ability to read, write and follow written/oral instructions
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred
  • 1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience Preferred
