Endoscopy 
By treating each patient with care and compassion, nurses in our three-suite Endoscopy Unit help fulfill our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. They provide pre-sedation, intra-procedure, and post-procedure care for patients 16 years and older. This care includes assessing, intervening, and evaluating physical or psychosocial changes that result from sedation/analgesia or anesthetic agents. Our practice is defined through the implementation of specific role functions that are delineated by the standards of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates Inc.
 
Qualifications

You will be responsible for:

  • This specially trained nurse assists the surgeon in performing surgical procedures. 
  • Responsibilities include planning, implementing and/or supervising the care of the endoscopy patient. 
  • Maintains a safe and aseptic environment during procedures. 
  • Implements physician orders which concern medications, treatment, and diagnostic measures including monitoring the patient during procedures utilizing moderate sedation.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency specific to assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures.
  • Assists in any other tasks as directed by the endoscopy coordinator or surgical services manager.
  • Responsible to adhere to the Adventist Health System Corporate Compliance Plan, and to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies

 

What will you need?

  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • Current registered nurse license with the Florida State Board of Examiners. 
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, 
  • One to three years in the required specialty.
