You will be responsible for:

  • Maintains MR safety standards according to ACR guidelines, particularly in Zones 3 & 4 at all times
  • Resourceful in obtaining accurate clearance information on MR compatibility of devices, implants, and other items that are subject to entering Zone 4
  • Obtains, reviews and confirms clearance for all that enter Zone 4, particularly the patient’s compatibility with the magnetic field strength & if required, follows protocol for further methods of clearance prior to proceeding
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, able to recognized gross abnormalities & notify physician of emergent findings
  • Assists physicians in cases of adverse reaction, performance of interventional/biopsy procedures using sterile technique and in acute emergencies when necessary
  • Follows protocols and adjusts techniques as required to obtain optimal exam within ACR standards; performs acceptable positioning and properly annotates exam
  • Possesses skills in reconstructions, reformations, including the use of workstations & chooses appropriate protocol for exam being performed
  • Obtains contrast consent, reviews patient history, verifies lab results & calculates GFR prior to procedure to determine that the patient is a candidate for administration of contrast material according to protocol & consults with physicians as needed
  • Completes medical records according to policy & procedures for exams being performed and verifies accuracy of transmitted images (including prior images if required) to PACS or other designated electronic imaging system
  • Performs duties in compliance with universal precaution, infection control, medical records charting/documentation and patient safety requirements
  • Obtain required patient history and/or consents, review for accuracy, completeness & verifies information prior to procedures
  • Knowledge and appropriate handling of ancillary devices (MR compatible/non-MR compatible) such as infusion pumps, O2, monitoring devices, urinary catheters, chest tubes & other devices during procedures
  • Completes medical records according to policy and procedures for exams being performed and timely transmission of electronic imaging to PACS
  • Troubleshoots equipment in the event of error, failure, complications, or downtime & follows procedures during such events
  • Starting & maintaining viable intravascular access during exams requiring administration of IV contrast material
  • Responsible for safely transporting patients via wheelchair, bed, stretcher or escorting ambulatory visitors/patients

What will you need?

  • Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technologist program
  • Minimum 2 years hospital-based clinical Radiology experience
  • State of Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist License
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • ARRT (R) or ARRT (R)(MR) (eligible for national registration)
  • BLS-CPR certification
  • ARRT (R)(MR) (must be obtained within one year of employment)(Preferred)
