Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel has provided faith-based, whole person care to the community since it opened in 2012. Every detail of our 83-bed facility is purposefully designed to create an environment of healing for mind, body and spirit. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment from outpatient services to our surgical suites and inpatient care. In 2013, we also opened a 50,000-square foot Health and Wellness Center that includes an indoor track, group exercise areas, and an aquatics center with a lap pool to help community members achieve optimal health. In August 2015, the hospital began construction on am expansion that will open in December of 2016, significantly increasing the number of inpatient beds, surgical suites, and emergency department rooms.
 
You will be responsible for:
 • Writes group exercise techniques that are appropriate for the fitness level of scheduled class.
• Instructs the group exercise classes with clear and concise instruction, easy for the participants to follow.
• Instructs each class within ACSM (“American College of Sports Medicine”), AFAA (“Aerobics and Fitness Association of America”) and ACE (“American Council on Exercise”) guidelines and ensures participants avoid any injury-prone exercises.
• Maintains active certification in a recognized certifying organization, such as ACSM, AFAA, ACE, Les Mills or similar organization for the specific program format. Aquatic instructors must be certified through U.S. Water Fitness Association, AEA (“Aquatic Exercise Association”). Instructors leading arthritis exercise based classes must be certified through a nationally recognized arthritis certification such as AFYAP (“Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program”).
• Stays current with trends in group exercise through attendance at workshops, reading professional journals and networking with other fitness leaders.
• Instructs classes in accordance with Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel Health & Wellness Center policies and procedures and maintains a friendly and safe environment.
• Before and after each instructed class, ensures that the group exercise room is well maintained and adequately equipped, including microphones, sound, projector and any additional audio/visual equipment that may have been used during the class. Reports needed repairs immediately to ensure member and guest satisfaction.
• Represents the Health & Wellness Center in a professional, courteous and enthusiastic manner.
• Adheres to all FHWC and HWC standards, policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate Florida Hospital “I Care” values – Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
• Required to work variable shifts, including rotating days, nights and weekends

Qualifications
What will you need:                                                            

• The interpersonal skills necessary to interact with participants in a personable, enthusiastic manner.
• The creativity to choreograph strength and cardiovascular training techniques that are fun.
• A commitment to provide World Class customer service and work collaboratively on a World Class team.

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR - LAND:

• High School Graduate.
• Maintains active certification in a recognized certifying organization, such as ACSM, AFAA, ACE, Les Mills or similar organization for the specific program format, i.e., pilates, cycling, Barre, etc.
• BLS and AED Certification required upon hire

GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR – AQUATIC:

• High School Graduate
• Aquatic instructors must be certified through U.S. Water Fitness Association, AEA (“Aquatic Exercise Association”). Instructors leading arthritis exercise based classes must be certified through a nationally recognized arthritis certification such as AFYAP (“Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program”).
• CPR and AED Certification required upon hire
