The largest health care provider in Johnson County, Kansas, the SMH network includes SMMC and SMH - Prairie Star and will soon include SMH - Blue Valley, a third major health care facility. Our 54-acre campus at SMMC is comprised of the main hospital, a community health education building, six physician office buildings and an associate child care center. The Emergency Department at SMMC is the busiest in Johnson County. We deliver more babies each year at the Shawnee Mission Birth Center than any other hospital in the metropolitan area and our Center for Women’s Health is nationally recognized. We have seven Shawnee Mission Primary Care locations with more than 30 Board-certified doctors who specialize in family medicine, internal medicine and pediatrics as well as Centra Care Shawnee Mission Urgent Care locations.

 

Qualifications
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Customer Service: Clarify needs of customer in order to determine product/service best suited for the customer.  Explain features and benefits of products/services to customers.  Show empathy and complete understanding of each person’s situation. Handle and resolve any customer complaints in an expedient manner.  Follow through on commitments made to customers.  Ensure and track customer satisfaction.  Proactively assists peers for the purpose of increasing the overall quality of store operations. Ensure key products are reordered and in stock at all times.  Attend Gift Markets selecting themes, new products and product categories to incite positive customer response.
  • Managing Performance: Responsible for personal performance, volunteers performance and store performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking sales progress against goals and ensuring feedback from manager. Sets retail pricing strategy, collaborating with manager. Initiates and executes timely markdowns. Organizes and executes year-end inventory. Develops and executes a control system for inventory, reorders and supplies.  Reconcile daily receipts and bank deposits.
  • Building Collaborative Relationships: Developing, maintaining and strengthening partnerships with suppliers, clinicians, volunteers and others inside or outside of the organization who can provide information assistance and support in achieving the store’s goals.
  • Creativity: Proficient in creating compelling merchandise displays and new marketing ideas. Is able to balance creativity with a sense of realism about what is achievable in the longer term.
  • Negotiations: Effective in fostering collaborative atmosphere and communicating clearly desired outcomes for vendor partnerships, payment terms, return to vendors, swap out and product damages.
  • Initiative: Identifying what needs to be done and taking action before being asked or the situation requires it.  Does more than what is normally required in a situation.
  • Flexibility: Demonstrates openness to new organizational structures, procedures, and technology Switches to a different strategy when an initially selected one is unsuccessful. Is able to see others perspectives.
  • Organizational Skills: Competent in setting daily priorities and setting time-lines to achieve goals.
  • Problem Solving: Recognizes an issue, takes initiative to find possible solutions and implements best solution in a timely manner.
 
What will you need?
 
  • High School Education or Equivalent
  • 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5+ Years of Position-Related Experience Preferred
