Data Analyst Full Time Days Gordon Hospital

The Data Analyst performs a variety of technical and analytical duties by providing support, utilizing Lean practices. Reporting to the Operational Excellence Manager, the data analyst assists with Operational Excellence projects, reports, or other assignments, performing a variety of reporting and analysis functions which involve an in-depth knowledge or wide range of procedures and technical work processes and performs related duties as assigned. Excellent data analysis, organization, communication, and meeting documentation skills are required when assisting the Operational Excellence Manager, department leaders, as well as other healthcare personnel.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
DATA ANALYTICS AND REPORT GENERATION (60%)
Supports Operational Excellence leadership by developing clear and concise reports related to Operational Excellence and Patient Experience projects. Creates action plans ensuring that strategic initiatives are started and resolved effectively.
Contributes to decision-making by effectively presenting researched information so that relevant data can be aggregated into summary form within presentations and meetings.
Provides regular Operational Excellence and Patient Experience excel and powerpoint updates as applicable to Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center business units and strategic partners using standardized department resources to fulfill communication responsibilities.
Creates single-use or ad hoc reports to validate ongoing organizational action plans or projects to support strategic alignment of resources and activities.
Exercises care and respect with regards to protected health information (PHI) as well as trade secrets and proprietary information by ensuring confidential and secure communication as appropriate to ensure the protection and safety of sensitive information.
OBSERVATION/DATA COLLECTION (20%)
Attends hospital wide departmental board huddles collecting survey information on huddle usage, efficiency of huddles, and tracks action items relevant to assigned departments
Uses Lean tools and observation in collecting data relevant to Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center departments’ value streams
SERVICE REPRESENTATION (10%)
Represents the Operational Excellence department by participating in meetings and workgroups within Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center to assist the Operational Excellence department in fulfilling its responsibilities as a service department. Assists in documenting action items developed in meetings and work groups
Contributes to the continued education of Operational Excellence staff during projects by acting as a liaison with departmental leaders and AHS corporate data analytic support personnel to ensure that results from projects and action plans are gathered timely and cost-effectively.
Assists departmental communication to Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center business units by diligently sharing appropriate information related to Operational Excellence business functions through appropriate methods (e.g. email, phone call, meetings, etc.) so that Gordon Hospital and Murray Medical Center departments supported by Operational Excellence are fully engaged in strategic initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, healthcare or related field

This position supports 2 facilities: Gordon Hospital 1035 Red Bud Rd NE, Calhoun, GA 30701 and Murray Medical Center 707 Old Dalton Ellijay Rd, Chatsworth, GA 30705
This position is required to respond to emergency situations (e.g., disasters, hurricanes, etc.) by reporting to department and staying until the crisis is over or responsibilities have been transferred to incoming personnel. This is a mandatory requirement. Refusal to respond may result in termination.
