Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women’s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more.
What you will responsible for: 
To provide safe and accurate medication services for all patients in the hospital. 
  • Monitors patient drug therapy
  • Promotes safe and cost-effective drug therapy
  • Supervises support personnel
  • Manages the pharmacy in the absence of the manager
  • Drug procurement and distribution per department policy and procedures
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives of the department and hospital
  • Maintains clinical competency for current position
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor
  • Understands 340b requirements
  • Has knowledge of JCAHO Standards for the department related to the pharmacy and med management as it relates to the job position
  • Participates as part of a healthcare team with other health care providers
  • Assists with in-services and education initiatives for the hospital and community
  • Attends assigned meetings
  • Assists with precepting pharmacy students
  • Acts in a professional manner
  • Maintains excellent customer service
  • Assists with billing inquiries
What you will need:
  • Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License
  • Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy
  • 20 hours of ACPE continuing education for sterile product preparation as required by Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy pharmacist license
  • Drug Distribution
  • Sterile IV Admixture
  • Pharmacokinetic Drug Dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and warfarin
  • Antibiotic Stewardship
  • Rounding with physicians and the health care team
  • Discharge counseling
  • Coumadin Education
  • Code Response
  • BLS preferred
  • Pharm.D degree (preferred)
  • Hospital pharmacy experience (preferred)
  • Residency (preferred)
  • BCPS certification (preferred)
  • ACLS (preferred)
  • Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy pharmacist preceptor license (preferred)
